Futsal was the name of the game last weekend for our boys Development Teams, as we travelled to Vernon to play in a series of matches with EFS
A great day of goals galore was enjoyed by all….thank you to our friends at EFS for hosting us
Watch out for more futsal action ahead as we roll into our Winter training phase. Apart from being lots of fun, futsal is also a perfect development tool for playing soccer the Soccaskool way !
Soccaskool’s U11 and U12 Girls Development Teams continued their Fall season
last weekend with a visit to The Lower Mainland to compete in The North Shore Soccer Club girls tournament.
Both of our teams were able to demonstrate the progress we have made so far with our new girls program. Our girls produced excellent performances and were able to record great results against strong opposition.
These teams have now been training 3 times a week since the beginning of July and their progress is clear to see. On Wednesday, we played the last of our early morning inter squad matches at Dilworth, which have been a lot of fun even if it is starting to get pretty chilly !
This weekend both teams will travel to Vernon to wrap up our outdoor phase with a couple of matches against EFS. This will take our number of competitive matches played so far with these teams to 14 each.
Our U10 Development Team was too hot to handle for the TOYSL U11 Development Teams of Salmon Arm and Penticton this weekend. Our passing was crisp, quick and precise throughout the tournament as we swept to comfortable victories in the group stage. Penticton were beaten 8-0, Salmon Arm #1 were beaten 9-0 and Salmon Arm #2 were beaten 8-1. Every single goal that we scored this weekend, without exception, was a result of good play, excellent passing and great technique. Every player in the squad, apart from U9 stand in goalkeeper Presley, got on the scoresheet. We did not score a single goal from either a long ball or a set play, which was very pleasing.
In Sundays final, we beat Penticton 6-1 and picked up another gold medal for our growing collection.
Well done to all of the players, and a big thank you to all of the families for your great support.
Tournament MVP went to Sophia again, she was simply outstanding all weekend !
Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the beautiful Spring sunshine with us at the weekend for the Development Team Jamboree. It was great to be able to host a home event like this, and we were delighted to welcome our soccer academy friends from Kamloops (Quest), Vernon (EFS) and Penticton (Excelsior) to Kelowna for a great day of soccer.
Each of our Development Teams, U9, U10, U11 and U12, played in two matches and we will post match reports with pictures for all of them over the course of this week. For now, however please check out this awesome U10 slideshow, courtesy of Mike Ross, which gives everyone a taste of what the day was all about!

Diego will also be playing Futsal in Rio with a local soccer club called Bebola during his upcoming visit to Brazil !
Coaches Comments: All of us at Soccaskool wish Diego lots of luck and success as he heads off to Brazil for a month to train and play futsal. He is one of our very best players, and we are sure that he is going to do well. Diego is a pleasure to coach and work with. He has a great personality with excellent ability, we are going to miss him !
