Soccaskool’s Development Team Program has grown and evolved into Okanagan FC, Kelowna’s newest soccer club.
We will continue to field Boys and Girls Development Teams every year from U9 to U12. This program has been running very successfully since 2016. Our Development Teams compete in the BC Academy Super League (BCASL) Tryouts for our 2018-19 teams will be held in June.

Our vision is that of a “cradle to grave” soccer club with a family feel to it, and a reputation for excellence.

Ever since our Academy began in 2012, there has always been girls in our program. We have seen some outstanding girls come through our program and we like to think that we have played an important part in their soccer development. However, girls were always in the minority.
When we began our development team program a few years ago, it was exclusive to boys teams from U9 to U12. The best of our female players were however able to join our boys teams and we still currently have a couple of exceptional girls on boys development teams.
Ava is a key player for our U11 boys team and plays with incredible maturity and Sophia has built a reputation as a very technically strong player both locally and in The Lower Mainland, with her excellent performances on our U12 Boys team !
Last summer we decided to offer enhanced programs for our girls. We opened a girls only academy class, with a plan to create our first Girls Development Team at U11.
Instantly our girls only academy class filled up and our development team tryout numbers were so positive that we created not one, but two girls teams, one at U11 as well as a U12 team. These teams have since bonded extremely well and consistently work hard on improving their overall game with great enthusiasm.
Although we are only halfway through the 12 month development team program it is more than fair to say that we are witnessing remarkable improvement in the girls technical ability, game play, understanding and recent games bare little resemblance to the teams opening games.
As a demonstration of our recent successes with our girls programming, our Winter 2018 Girls class was the first academy class to be fully subscribed and we now have a growing wait list as more and more girls look to join Soccaskool.
Watch out for our Girls in 2018 !
